MULTIPHASE super alloy (often known as AMS 5844) is another material used for the production of our various components used also in the aerospace sector.
Applications for this material include customised components made by Poggipolini's (Special Parts Division) where high strength mechanical properties and elevated corrosion resistance are the essential requirements.
APPLICATIONS
This MULTIPHASE super alloy is most often found when working with the following applications:
Connecting Rod applications (Car and Motorcycle racing)
High-Performance fasteners or Automotive Engines
Nautical Equipment
Aerospace
Aeronautical
Petrochemical
Undersea Equipment

The term MULTIPHASE is used when part of the crystal-matrix structure of this alloy is transformed through the cold working of the element and the face-centered cubic crystal structure (fcc) is transformed into an hexagonal closed-packed one (hcp).
The presence of a high concentration of cobalt allows the metal to react and to gain a MULTIPHASE structure. Further manipulating the fcc and the hcp crystal structures throughout the aged hardening process of the material the alloy obtains some unique physical properties.
